IPFW Alumnus Don Offerle Passes Away

Fort Wayne’s “everyman” tennis pro Don Offerle passed away Monday at age 55. After surviving and recovering from a horrific bicycling accident in 2015 that put him into a coma with a brain injury, this time he could not beat pancreatic or liver cancer. After graduating from Bishop Dwenger in 1981, Offerle read a story in IPFW’s The Communicator about the new tennis team looking for players. Read the News-Sentinel Article

Shubitha Kever Receive Award and Presents at Conference

Shubitha Kever, director of student support services, was presented the Educational Opportunity Association’s 2017 Advocacy Award for recognition of exemplary advocacy for TRIO, GEAR UP, and college access and success programs locally, regionally, and nationally at the 43rd Annual EOA Professional Conference November 12-15 in Schaumburg, Illinois. She also presented a session at the conference titled, Everyday Advocacy.
