Department of History Celebrates Book Releases by Suzanne LaVere and Jeffrey Malanson

On Monday, April 25, the Department of History held a book release party in honor of recent titles authored by two of its faculty members.

Suzanne LaVere, associate professor of history, published her book Out of the Cloister: Scholastic Exegesis of the Song of Songs, 1100-1250 with E.J. Brill as part of their prestigious  Commentaria: Interpretations of Sacred Texts in Medieval Judaism, Christianity, and Islam series.

Jeffrey Malanson, assistant professor of history, whose book Addressing America: George Washington’s Farewell and the Making of National Culture, Politics, and Diplomacy, 1796-1852, was published by The Kent State University Press in 2015.
